En spesial-tapning for å feire Ardbeg Committees 10-års jubileum. Satt sammen av Ardbeg-whisky fra forskjellige fattyper i perioden 1997 til 2006, noe som iflg produsenten har skapt en «berg-og-dalbaneaktig» whiskyopplevelse.

Lys gylden	Lukt: Røyk, rent fjøs, pepper, salt klippfisk, maritim. Vått lær Smak: Kraftig søt pepper, anis, tjære, tang. Noe lett bittert grønt. Røyk og gårsdagens bålaske. Nesten litt branntomt. Intens, varm. Som en varm eksplosjon i munnhulen. Prikkende, som om det var kullsyre. Fet.	Ikke vurdert lukt. Ikke vurdert smak.
Ettersmak: Middels lang - anis, søt malt, torv Oppsummering: Virker ganske ung og ukomplisert uten være uferdig. Veldig behagelig, frisk, nesten litt sprudlende. Lettdrikkelig. Kraftig smak, taper litt på avslutningen som ikke klarer å følge helt opp Se forum for flere detaljer.

Rich Gold	An enormous whisky, embodying the perfect fusion of sweetness, spice, creamy malt and deep smoke; this specially selected whisky is a sensational example of multi-layered classic Ardbeg. Fudge, burnt sugar and treacle toffee emerge first with peat encased in dark chocolate. Cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg spices bring warmth and richness before a wave of iodine, coal tar and linseed oil takes hold. Fresh top notes of menthol, fennel and pine resin lift you higher. Then, as you dip further into the glass, deep notes of liquorice root, leather, brambles and black cherries crescendo from the glass along with hallmark Ardbeg beeswax. With water, smoke bellows from the glass with smokey chimneys, leafy bonfires, charcoal and tea leaves. A stoney beach is discovered next, covered with crispy seaweed, creosote and resinous tarry ropes. A bowlful of apples and pears awaits you, dipped in toffee with dates and spices. Smoky asparagus and sweet potato emerge with pepper and earthy peat.	Big, rich and exceedingly smooth and peaty, with a fusion of Ardbeg tastes rolling over the tongue. The mouthfeel is at once creamy and chewy, coating the entire palate with a wave of silk-velvet smoke. Fragrant peat smoke rolls over the tongue bringing black cherries, cloves, chocolate ganache and fudge; a deliciously smoky dessert. A breeze of fresh coriander, menthol and violets lifts to the roof of the mouth, followed by chewy sugared almonds and tangy lime juice. Waxy peat smoke is present throughout, constantly filling the palate with rolling cooca, clotted cream and scented smoke from beginning to end
Ettersmak: The taste refuses to go away. The finish is long and scented with fragrant wood smoke, spices (cloves and aniseed) and clotted cream.

Poeng: 88 - Whiskyfun

straw	Ha, this one starts as kippery as whisky can be! What’s even more striking are the notes of cooked ham that aren’t often to be found in Ardbeg, even young ones. Yet, it doesn’t smell immature despite the slightly raw whiffs of mercurochrome and tincture of iodine. Very funny development on… wait, Absinth? Serious! Also embrocations, dill… Between a pharmacy and an herbalist’s shop. Some pears, sign of youth. The peat isn’t really big, maybe it’ll come out louder with water. With water: changes a lot, now much more on metal polish, soot, linoleum, apple peelings and wet clothes and newspapers. Still no huge peat and no ‘new rubber boots effect’.	Punchy and powerful, much, much peatier, smokier and rougher than the nose suggested. Not exactly ‘Supernova-esque’ but closer to that one than to, say the regular Tens. Something herbal and bitter, artichoke liqueur (I’m sorry), or Fernet-Branca… Stomach bitter? You have to like that – I do. With water: less bitter herbs and more ‘sweet’ ones, aniseed, cider apples, then quite some limejuice and more and more salt. And smoke, of course.
Ettersmak: Long, salty and earthy, not that far from the old 10 at this point. Notes of gentian spirit as often in youngish Ardbegs (I think!) as well as a little eucalyptus/cough drops. Oppsummering: Nose and palate are quite different but what’s sure is that it’s a straight and genuine Ardbeg, especially on the palate. The younger parts (3 to 6yo) do not show off too much, which is probably great news, but it’s obviously not an old Ardbeg. Great work, it must have been tricky to compose such a vatting
